Editorial policy on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Artificial Intelligence (IA)

This policy establishes guidelines for the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in the creation, evaluation and publication of articles in this journal. It aims to preserve the principles of transparency, integrity, originality and respect for intellectual property in the field of academic research.

The journal reserves the right to request further clarification regarding the use of AI in manuscripts received, as well as to reject papers that do not comply with these guidelines.

Use of AI in content writing and analysis: Authors should explicitly state in the manuscript any use of AI tools in the writing, editing, translation, data analysis or graphic content generation processes.

If generative AI models are used (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, DALL-E, among others), the specific tool used and the extent of its application should be indicated in the acknowledgments section or in the methodological section of the article.

Responsibility and authorship: Artificial Intelligence cannot be acknowledged as the author of any article. Full responsibility for the content, data, interpretations and conclusions rests solely with the human authors.

It must be ensured that the use of AI does not compromise the originality or veracity of the work, avoiding any form of plagiarism, manipulation, unwarranted bias or misinformation.

Use of AI in peer review: Reviewers may use AI tools only to support the analysis of manuscripts, but never to make final decisions on acceptance or rejection.

If AI is used during the review process, the reviewer should inform the editor of the tool used and the type of assistance received.

Use of AI by the editorial team: The editorial team may use AI tools for technical and administrative tasks, such as text formatting, style checking, or automated plagiarism detection, always under direct human supervision to ensure the consistency and quality of the publication.

Ethical considerations: The use of AI in the editorial context should be aligned with the ethical principles of scientific research, including the protection of personal data, accuracy in the treatment of information and respect for intellectual property.

It is strictly forbidden to use AI tools to fabricate, falsify or manipulate scientific data, as well as to unduly alter research results.
