Ethical Statement

It is committed to the practice of ethical publishing and applies ethical standards.

In all cases of ethical issues that may arise in academic publishing, the editorial team strives to act professionally and efficiently, be fair and objective, maintain clear communication with the accused party – and allow the necessary time – to establish their position before making a decision, keep all parties informed of decisions, and protect the moral rights of the authors.

Basic Principles

Authors submitting manuscripts to Innovación, Saber y Capacitación Profesional guarantee the following:

  • The article is original and unpublished: it has not been previously published and is not under consideration by any other publication. Authors guarantee the absence of plagiarism in their text, including self-plagiarism or duplicate publication.
  • The work does not include defamatory, discriminatory, or illegal statements;
  • The work does not contain defamatory, unlawful, obscene material, invasion of another person's privacy or contempt of the law, nor ethically objectionable hate speech, abusive, threatening, or harmful content.
  • The manuscript does not violate anyone's copyright.
  • Authorship has been agreed upon and no one has been given "gift authorship" or denied credit as an author ("ghost authorship"). Those who have provided support but not contributed to the research should be acknowledged in the acknowledgments section.
  • Once the peer review process has started, an author who decides to withdraw their work must state the reasons for their retraction.

Authors submitting manuscripts to this journal understand that if these basic principles are found not to have been met, actions will be taken following COPE guidelines (https://publicationethics.org/resources/translated-resources/spanish-all-flowcharts) and may result in one of the following correction notices:

  • Correction of errors: refers to an error prior to submission to the journal. It will appear in the online summary version of the document to ensure full visibility.
  • Retraction: a retraction notice will be issued in cases of serious ethical misconduct or when the research is seriously flawed and misleading. A retraction notice will appear in the online version of the document. In extreme cases, editors reserve the right to withdraw the article from the journal.
  • Expression of concern: used when a conclusion is unclear or a fair decision cannot be made due to conflicts of interest or lack of information, an expression of concern will be published regarding the document. It will appear in the online summary version of the document to ensure full visibility.
  • Clarification note: used when a point needs to be emphasized or clarified in the text but does not constitute a correction.

Innovación, Saber y Capacitación Profesional reserves the right not to proceed with a case if the complainant provides a false name or affiliation or acts inappropriately or threateningly toward the editors and publishing staff.

Plagiarism, Self-Plagiarism, and Duplicate Publication

Innovación, Saber y Capacitación Profesional requires that all research submitted to the journals be original and authors must agree to these terms.

If any part of the work has been previously published, including in another language, authors must ensure it has been properly referenced and clearly stated in the article submission so that editors can make a fully informed decision. Repeating research is only acceptable if it leads to different conclusions or includes new relevant data.

Original content quality includes not being previously published. It is academically unacceptable to submit the same article to more than one journal simultaneously. Authors must wait for a decision from one journal before submitting to another.

If suspected plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or redundant publication is detected, the publisher will follow the processes and measures proposed by COPE in their flowcharts (https://publicationethics.org/resources/translated-resources/spanish-all-flowcharts).

Authorship Issues

Innovación, Saber y Capacitación Profesional considers these three main types of authorship issues:

  • Exclusion of a contributor from the list of authors (ghost authorship).
  • Inclusion of a named person who has not contributed to the work (gift authorship) or who does not wish to be associated with the research.
  • The order of authorship and level of contribution of each author.

In case of an authorship dispute, Innovación, Saber y Capacitación Profesional will strive to facilitate a resolution. However, due to the nature of the conflict, we cannot comment on the level of contribution of each author. If the matter cannot be resolved, we will refer the issue to the authors’ institutions.

When an authorship change is necessary and all authors agree, it will be submitted as a correction of errors. A retraction will only be published if all authors request it.

Coercive Citation

Innovación, Saber y Capacitación Profesional considers coercive citation (i.e., inclusion of a reference as a condition of acceptance or without academic justification) unethical and does not endorse this behavior.

We encourage authors who feel pressured to include a particular reference in their article to write to info.decapromex@gmail.com to inform us of this situation.

Fabricated Data

Innovación, Saber y Capacitación Profesional strives to publish only truthful and rigorous articles. However, as research is conducted before submission, editors cannot guarantee the proper use of data by authors.

If there is suspicion of fabricated data, we will strive to facilitate a resolution and refer the matter to the authors’ institutions when appropriate. More information about the process can be found in the COPE flowcharts.

Unethical Research and Testing

Authors must follow appropriate international and national procedures regarding data protection, privacy rights, protection of minors, and medical testing on humans and animals. Authors may be required to provide consent forms and necessary forms from the corresponding regulatory bodies.

If it is determined that the research contravenes international or national procedures and this is confirmed by the appropriate regulatory body, Innovation, Knowledge and Professional Training will publish a retraction.

Defamation

If authors make unfounded, emotional, or inaccurate statements about people or organizations in their articles, Innovation, Knowledge and Professional Training reserves the right to request changes or reject the manuscript before publication. Criticism and reviews are perfectly acceptable but must be constructive.

If a published article in our journal is deemed defamatory, a retraction will be published. Where legally required, the document will be removed from the online version of the journal and an apology will be published. Likewise, if a study may be potentially defamatory, we will request written consent proof before starting the publication process.

Conflict of Interest

Innovación, Saber y Capacitación Profesional considers the following cases of conflicts of interest:

  • Financial or personal interest in the results of the research.
  • Undisclosed financial support for the research by an interested third party.
  • Financial or personal interest in the suppression of the research.

If a conflict of interest is suspected, it should be reported to the editor or the main contact of the journal, who will follow the flowcharts provided by COPE.

Complaints and Appeals

The process to handle authors’ complaints against the journal, its staff, the editorial board, or the editor will be as follows:

  1. The complaint must be submitted in writing to decapromex@gmail.com
  2. The journal’s editorial team will consider the complaint and acknowledge receipt within a maximum of 10 days after receiving it.
  3. The complaint will be resolved within a maximum of 30 days after receipt. The decision will be in writing and will be final.
